About Me
My name is Dallas and I have spent a majority of my life in parts of Texas and Colorado, with each place hosting impactful stages of development and influential connections. I have found myself in a unique bond with these two vastly different cultures and landscapes, as there have been deep exploration in all the seasons of both locations. I have fondness and frustrations with each, yet I feel entirely full in their collective offerings. While these two areas have been my basecamp points of adventure, I have still gotten to explore much of the U.S. via family camping trips or the days of being in touring bands. There is alot to see in every backyard and I feel many take it for granted doing the same things over and over again. This is why a point of my photography is to be like a gate to the dream, by invoking a sense of permission for people to adventure. Connecting your physical presence and energy with a place is far superior than what any 2D media can present. Anything I can experience, you can too and I’m happy to lead the way there.
Since I was a child, I have always had a strong sense of curiosity and wonder. I felt that I could never be bored in any scene. I always found awe and amusement in any environment. Of course nothing beats nature. As being a child from 5-14yrs old living in the concrete and glass metropolis of DFW, I still managed to form my most memorable moments outside amongst the little slivers of nature that existed there. Mother Earth drew me in wherever I could hear her whispers. I was in ultimate bliss when playing in the lackluster creeks of suburbia. Eventually as I got older and given more control over where I use my time, an infatuation and need for being submersed in grander epic scenes integrated into my bones ever more and I seek them out with fervor. Now as an adult, I have gone back and forth between Texas and Colorado, where I filled up with extensive explorations of each place. Currently I am based in western Colorado, in the town of Grand Junction, CO.
Our culture has seemingly progressed into a disconnect with nature, I have found it increasingly vital to integrate as a necessity for balance. This goes in hand with me refusing to use AI-generated material. Everything you see is an original capture, curated and edited by me. Yet the idea is to deliver the feeling of being in a dream or a movie. Because that’s how I perceive getting to walk on this floating wild rock.
